Cook Group expands My Cook Pathway program with new IWU tuition discount
Bloomington, Ind. – Today, Cook Group announced a new partnership with Indiana Wesleyan University. All Cook employees will be eligible for a 10 percent tuition discount for bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in a variety of specialties. When combined with Cook’s tuition assistance program, the discount allows employees to earn their degree for less than half of the average cost.
“Investing in employees through education is one of the best ways to help them achieve their personal and career goals,” said Nicky James, vice president of Human Resources and Talent Development. “Partnerships with universities like IWU combined with our tuition assistance empowers employees to get past the financial roadblocks that sometimes hold them back from furthering their education.”
The partnership is an expansion of the award-winning My Cook Pathway employee development program, which was started by Cook in 2016. My Cook Pathway also includes partnerships with Ivy Tech Community College’s Achieve Your Degree program, Western Governors University and Monroe County Community School Corporation’s Adult Education program through Broadview Learning Center.
Cook employees who enroll in any of IWU’s degree programs will receive a 10 percent discount toward tuition. Cook provides employees $5,250 up-front on an annual basis for all degree programs related toward their current role, or a future opportunity at Cook.
About Cook Group
In 1963, Bill and Gayle Cook created a small company that manufactured three simple medical devices used to treat patients in less invasive ways than common surgical techniques of the time. That small company grew into Cook Medical, with global reach and products for treating conditions in almost every system of the body and area of the hospital.
Along the way, this entrepreneurial family branched out into other areas of business – to explore new types of medical treatment; to support their passions, like historic preservation; and to support their growing group of employees and the communities where they live.
Cook Group was created to provide support and oversight to the Cook companies, which remain family owned.
